New Water Tower CompletedSMSC Water Reclamation Facility Operational

The 100,000-gallon water tower on Flandreau Trail (across from Mystic Lake Casino Hotel and the fire station) was taken down in 2005. It was cut into five pieces and transported by truck to its future home at the McKenna Road Water Treatment Plant. where it is scheduled to be operational by mid-2007. It will have a 400 gpm gravity filtration system that will remove the majority of iron and manganese from the water supply. A new 1,000,000-gallon water tower was constructed on Flandreau Trail and has been operational since the fall of 2006. This will give the water system more consistent water pressure and will aid in fire protection.
